Made to gather and grow together.

They say, “a house is made of wood and stone but only love can make it a home”. Ben and Trish Fuller of Lemburg House may have started with just an empty unassuming lot, but they gathered and grew something that personifies the heartbeat of their family.

Like a forgotten treasure, this vacant lot in the Historic District of Fredericksburg, Texas sat ready to join the story of the surrounding homes. Homes built decades ago for families just like the Fullers. Homes that send out hardworking parents and carefree children to welcome them home again for rest. Homes that share meals around the table with neighbors and friends, not because it’s a holiday but just because.  As Ben and Trish considered the possibilities, they were determined to build a home that would respect traditional materials while also celebrating a contemporary application. But more importantly, they set out to preserve more than just wood and stone in their neighborhood.

Given the modest size of the lot, Ben and Trish collaborated with Design Visions to accomplish 5 Beds, 4 ½ Baths, and a generous Office Space all within 3,500 SF! The separate structures aim to follow the natural progression often seen on property in this area. A modest founding home later added onto to accommodate the growing family. With this in mind, the Casita has a quaint front porch perfect for rocking chairs, wood shingles and four pane windows.  While the Main House has a prominent arched steel door, metal roof, and modern window details. These subtle differences are united with warm vertical Doug Fir lap siding and creamy Texas Limestone.

The efficient interior spaces were designed to complement life with creative storage and stunning finishes! The sustainably sourced Pecan wood flooring throughout and one-of- a kind Mont Blanc Quartzite are the obvious showstoppers upon entering the home.  However, the real star is found within the custom cabinetry- thoughtfully organized spaces hidden behind unassuming shaker panels! Hand trowel plaster details, meticulously hung wallpaper, and “effortless” tile are just some of the ways this home highlights the hard work of numerous Trade Partners. A quality that is of particular significance to Ben, Trish and the entire Lemburg House family.

On any given day, the Fullers could be found holding meetings in the front office or holding hands dancing in the kitchen, regardless this House of Wood & Stone was made to gather and grow! Building a Legacy never hit quite so close to home.
